Forevers Centex 1st Anniversary Meeting started with a "Friendship Circle" and celebration
of our common thread as a Rangerette. The special cake decorated with a K-girl was cut and cameras were activated! It was
held in the home of Holly Lyons ('95). Kara Long ('95) and Stacy Danielson ('98) also helped host the anniversary event. A
huge HAPPY ANNIVERSARY banner, balloons, cake and numerous other appetite pleasing treats decorated Holly's home. The red,
white and blue spirit was everywhere. Thanks to our hostesses for a wonderful Sunday afternoon of fun, food and friendships.
Also, our thanks to Holly for providing great raffle items.
A special welcome to Amanda Strassburg ('08) as she was
a newcomer and the youngest Rette attending. Thanks were given to Joyce and C.R. Pennington for the two books given for the
raffle plus the awesome signs directing us to Holly's house. In addition, our thanks went to Kelly Barber ('96) for the $50
Truluck's gift certificate. Andrea Zuelsdorf ('94) was the lucky winner! Everyone was excited about the chance to win fabulous
prizes. A total of $165 was collected for the raffle.
Jean shared with the group the red, white and blue Forevers tote
purchased from Charlene Roberts for the raffle. Jean explained that she is taking orders for the tote for $30 if you are interested.
Make check out to Forevers Centex and mail to Jean Davis Hejl, 105 Davis Drive, Thorndale TX 76577-5340.
Also, a Big
Centex Thanks to Joyce and C.R. Pennington for putting on the competition and donating money for Rangerette scholarships.
We love you Joyce and C.R.!!!

- At the Cotton Bowl, the Rangerette Forevers
Board gave the Chairman of the Cotton Bowl, who is an avid Rangerette supporter, an honorary lifetime membership as a Rangerette
Forever. His staff presented watches to the sophomores.
- Four former Rangerettes are currently
Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.
- Sandra Kay Adams ('61) reported on the F3 event at Kilgore
in October 2011 during Parents Weekend and passed around the "Rette, White and Blue" magazine from the DFW Forevers.
- Kelly Barber ('96) and Susan Reed ('79) reported on the project they did for the Rangerettes for
the send-off to Hawaii. Leis were given to each Rette that included a note of "good luck" from the Forevers Centex
- Holly Lyons reported about the idea for a mini camp in Central Texas to
promote Rangerettes. She has sent an email to Dana Blair asking for their permission to hold a "last chance" camp
for girls interested in trying out for Rangerettes. No reply from Kilgore as of yet.
Forevers Centex logo was discussed again and the attending ladies voted to accept the current logo of the Rangerette Forever
organization. It would be the K-girl picture, the Forevers logo and Forevers Centex underneath. The group wanted to keep the
logo consistent with the other chapters.
- The group voted to purchase a half-page ad in
the 2012 Revels program at $175. Nina Persohn ('70) suggested we put a picture of the Rangerettes from Central Texas in this
ad. Kara and Nina will take the lead on this project and develop the ad.
- Patti Wright
('82) and Edna Hodges ('70) volunteered to make gift bags and deliver them to the Central Texas Rangerettes before Revels.
- I received a note from Cyndy Nowlin ('59) and she wanted all the Centex ladies to know that she
had checked out the website and pictures from the October meeting in Salado and wrote, "It is absolutely obvious that
every one of you were Rangerettes. Chins were up, feet planted in their correct position, and your personalities front and
center. You go GIRLS!"
